Something that is created is done so for a reason. What would be the reason for creating transformer? As toys it has already been done. As useful machines a single purpose machine is easier to design, build and use than something that does multiple things. A machine that goes from a truck to a bi-ped (two legged) has no useful purpose in reality. A truck is for the purpose of hauling cargo. A biped (human in this case) drives the truck. But a truck that converts into a biped cannot haul enough cargo to be useful nor is it small enough to fit into a truck.
Some devices can change shape but often to take up less space when being moved (folding airplane wings, etc)
But don't let this discourage you. If you come up with something can can be either of two shapes and useful in both shapes design it and make your first million.

Soon very soon. There is no imagination to it. But then again imagination and dreams have brought us today's technology.

Something to think about.

I have been toying with the idea of a transforming aircraft/lawn mower. As a tech. I can see it happen. I shall say no more on this subject at this point.

Use your imagination, and dig into the books, see what you can build that can be transformed from one object to another. Look into robotics, forget about the out skin and looks, that comes later, but look at the engineering, and construction.

Transformers? lol you mean, create aliens to think, act, transform by themselves? If you are thinking of using them in a 'defense' or 'war' related scenario.. the government is working on something called a exoskeleton that will allow soilders to amplify their strength with the use of nano technology.

You should also try watching the Discovery Science channel, it has specials about stuff like this.
