Microcontrollers are more sophisticated than microporcessors. For embedded applications microcontrollers are used and for general computing applications microprocessors are used. Microcontrollers are nothing but microprocessors along with certain peripherals and memory interfacing glue logic (in some cases even memory itself) integrated on a single die and fabricated as a single IC.

Not much... the microprossessor probably is faster and computes more bits at a time than the microcontroller.

You will have a dentist, a barber, a goldsmith, a bar, a cafeteria, an office, a gym etc all in perhaps one house. the microprocessor s requires a memory, a set of I/O, a communication interface, a time/counter among other things. the microcontroller has all this in one chip
