I have a lab thermocouple that is connected to control. It has steel sheath ( don't know if its grounded or not), the tip is 1/2 inch long and the wiring is covered by steel woven with K type connector.

When I put the tip into hot liquid, it does not show any temperature change, but when I touch the top part near the end of wiring, it reacted and showing my body temperature.

I checked using ohm meter and it shows connection from the sheath to the end of the line. and other directly exposed thermocouple showing correct temperature reading.

any idea if there is special requirements to operate sheated thermocouples?

thanks

A tape that has an extra foot graduated to tenths outside the zero mark was used to measure a distance less than a tape length. When the rear tapeman held the 52ft graduation at his point, the head tapeman estimated the reading at his end of the measurement to be 68 hundredths of a foot. The length of the measurement should be recorded as how many feet?

We have to write down 5 machines in our house. Machines that don't use electricity to do it, and you don't have to do anything, it does it for you, it's kinda hard to explain. An example of this is the refrigerator doors, they have magnets on them that close the door for you if you leave it open and forget to close. Anyone know 5 more?
