what do you think?

I'm in the process of designing a functional laser rifle, and I have a question. Is a high powered Carbon Dioxide laser the best bet? I know they are used in laser surgery to cut the skin, but I don't know how good it would be at range. I am 17 years old, and I have had it in my head for years to build a laser rifle, and now, I'm actually in the design phase. Do you think that another type of gas laser would be better, or maybe even a non-gas laser. I just know that ammo is heavy, and if there were no ammo, our troops could be more effective. Plus, I'd become a billionaire. If I do become a billionaire, I might even send some money to those who help me. So, there might be something in this for you. I'm still studying the specs of various laser types, and believe that a CO2 laser would be best according to the data collected, and figures.

I'm traveling right now, and I have a 120 V charger for my Nintendo DS I brought from the states. The country I am in right now uses 220 V. Is it alright if I try plugging it in?
Not too sure how this works, thanks.

How you choose a development tool for your 8051 device? Assume that you've got one of the simpler ones without any fancy add-ons like CAN or USB. The big players seem to be Keil, Raisonance, IAR systems, and Crossware (pretty much in that order) -- these guys seem to have their own IDE and all the tools to go with (assembler, compiler, debugger, in-system debugger) without linking to 3rd parties for help. How do you choose from them? (Specifically features, ignore price)

Can anyone explain it in a more tangible way than pure thermodinamics? Maybe some examples of when do a system reaches this temperature or something like that.

This is a second part question from a previous question on what an HVAC is. Okay, I'm going on a date tomorrow, and the girl I'm dating is this really beautiful sophisticated sales engineer for a large HVAC company. What do they actually do? I'm a technical person, and my dad was an engineer for IBM but I'm more of a marketing kind of guy. I'm looking to maybe ask her questions that make me seem knowledgeable as well as interested in what she does. As she's explaining it to me, I"d like to know what she is talking about!

I remember very little from my long-ago electronics classes, but i think this is probably something very easy. I have four 12v devices that i am putting into a single enclosure and would like to run them all off one power supply. the total amp draw is under 4.5 amps, and i have a 5 amp rated ac adaptor, so that shouldn't really be a problem. My question is this: parallel or series? i'm thinking that it needs to be parallel but would like some confirmation from people who know more than i do.
