We have to write down 5 machines in our house. Machines that don't use electricity to do it, and you don't have to do anything, it does it for you, it's kinda hard to explain. An example of this is the refrigerator doors, they have magnets on them that close the door for you if you leave it open and forget to close. Anyone know 5 more?

Tea Kettle (whistles when water is boiling)
Door lock (when you close the door, it locks automatically)

The older bi-metallic thermostats. The bimetallic strip moves with temperature and closes a switch starting the heater. The thermostat portion is unpowered.


The oven door as mechanical springs as counter weights to balance the door.

Casters(rollers) on a chair. (simple machine i.e. Wheel and axel)

ON oil fired furnaces the exhasut flue is fitted with a damper. The damper is balanced so that it opens when the furnace is running and closes when the furnace is off.

Sink traps which hold a little bit of water in there bends. These allow water to drain into the sewer and block sewer gases from entering the home.

Many screen doors have springs on them that allow them to close automatically.

Your toilet uses no electricity to function, only gravity and the weight of the water in the tank to flush.

toilet, bathtub, when u take the drain out, it sucks the water down, doors, thyey swin back&close
