I am looking for an ADC DAC that is easy to interface with a computer. USB or PCI interfaces are both good. I need to be able to respond to an analog signal comming in and have a feedback response within under 1ms (as fast as possible, but 1ms is a good start). Preferably something that is < $1000 too, most of what I have seen that can do this is > $3000. Any ideas? And I need 18 bit output resolution. Input resolution of 8 bit would be good enough.

I have a BS degree in electrical engineering, and I am working on my MS degree in EE now. I am doing a large chunk of my coursework and research in the power area. I plan to head out into industry after completing my master's (maybe work for a power plant, research lab or power electronics manufacturer, not sure as of yet).

Would it be worth it to pursue a PE license in my case? I have heard that it sometimes isn't that helpful in advancing your career options depending on your situation.

Thanks for your input!

Got some sherry glasses my wife particularly likes. This type are almost impossible to replace. Only got 3 left from the dozen that I bought from Pub stock. I have heard that tempering this poor quality of glass will increase thier strength. Is this true and if so what is the heating / cooling cycle and temperatures required?

Soon all lighting house and street will be by LEDs which is much more controlable. My idea is the light unit has a sensor so the light is only on if the room is occupied or a person or car is in that section of the road. Not only are LEDs more effective but this plan would save a great deal of energy

A family member's brand-new house has the phrase, "Made with Post-Tensioned Concrete, Do NOT Drill!," stamped into the Garage floor in several places.

I saw a Discovery Channel show about Bridges built with the cables "Post-Tensioned," but how would this be done in a Garage Slab?

That is, can someone give me a summary of how, and why, a Garage slab would be build this way?
