look at roman engineering for example, the aqueducts had to maintain a certain drop over huge distances and they had to connect cities together over many miles sometime involving tunneling, I am sure they all worked from plans and did all the geometry and fully understood what the result would be before they started building

They used surveying tools for sure, plumb bobs and so on

There were engineers, and they did prepare documents to build these structures. It's impossible to build such a thing without some way to communicate dimensions and details.

The Egyptians actually performed a number of expirements to determine the ratio of height to lenght of sides to be able to get the maximum height without the pyramid colapsling.

So, while they didn't have CAD, they were remarkably well versed in mathematics and engineering.

i believe they did, yes. however i dont believe the egyptians had anything to do with their monuments being built. their predecessors built them :o)
