If you are looking to buy them - try RS (or Radio Spares).
If you're just curious, you're likely to find them on nearly all printed circuit boards in some form or another. You'll find them in TVs, Radios, DVD players, VCRs, computers.....

A very old & dusty text says "Seek and ye shall find." That's fairly true in this incident, simply because -er, um - they're everywhere. Every piece of modern electronics contains transistors.
Radios - got 'em. TV's - got 'em. Computers - got 'me. Candy Corn - okay, they don't have 'em, but they've got sugary goodness and that's gotta count for something. There even in your GrandPa's hearing aid (transistors, not candy corn). If it has electronic circuitry, it has transistors.
For a good time go on an image search engine and punch in "transistors." Then just hang on and let the fun begin!

A transistor is a three-terminal semiconductor device that can be used for amplification, switching, voltage stabilization, signal modulation and many other functions. The transistor is the fundamental building block of both digital and analog integrated circuits -- the circuitry that governs the operation of computers, cellular phones, and all other modern electronics.

In any Chip (Integrated Circuit).
This means, essentially at this point in history, in almost every gadget produced by man.
