They are in phase. There is actually more like 80 volts from the outlet to a earth ground from another part of the house and 20 from the earth ground to another ground from somewhere else in the house.

plz explain the working of a rheostat as well.
i cannot understand that when there is already a resistance from the load in a circuit, how r we changing this resistance. that cannot be decreased .can it
i am really very confused. plz explain.

[plz no foolery answers. i would prefer some seriousness. its not that i dont like sarcasm or jokes, but just now, i'm really not in a mood .]

"The enthalpy of water vapour in air can be taken to be equal to the enthalpy of saturated vapour at the same temperature",says my professor.
So enthalpy is a function of temperature alone....
An adiabatic process doesnt neccesarily mean that it is isothermal.....
so unless the temperature of the air is'nt constant, how can it's enthalpy be constant?

I am a indian graduate who has completed an Msc in mechanical engineering from london. I am desperately hunting for jobs here with no luck. They either want an unrestricted stay ( work permits) or years and years of experience which i dont have. is there any way i can extend my stay here or get a full time job in my field , cos i m tired of doin part-time at McDonalds.

machine design:if bolt joints 2 plates, and 2 equal forces but in oppiste direction are appled on the plate,,,so why we calculater tensile stress on the bolt and not shear stress.???this question is reagarding the case that there is 1 mm gap beatwean the diameter of the bolt and the diamters on the plates(the holes\\bores on the plater)...and why if there was no gap beetwean the diameter of the bolt and the holes(bores)on the plates for the same case with the forces above we r calculating shear force and not tensile force??in both case the forces r (geometry) perpendicular to the axis of the bolt so why in first case we calculate tensile and on the second case its shear,,,,though that the formula looks the same...its force /area??

Try this if you havn't as a child. My question is this, could this be copied on a larger scale utilising powerful vacuums in a pipe large enough for a human to climb up a ladder and into the water hovering above them? Just imagine...

I've been tasked with writing a summary on the engineering impacts to a mechanism. I realize that backlash is due to the tolerance buildup of the internal components but I'm looking for a good analytical way of discribing the effects. Anything you can come up with would be appreciated. Thank you.

If I make a costume that emmits invisible light, like gamma rays, ulraviolet light and other lights that cannot be seen by the human eye. Do you think it would work? If I somehow manage to make a costume made of spandex and apply hundreds of light emmiters all around it that emmit that type of light. unseen to the eye. I think it would work, I wouldn't become invisible, but you wouldn't be able to see me because all you would see if a shadow or maybe nothing. I don't know yet, I could totally become invisible to the human eye. Just think even a suit made of all natural white light almost would make me invisible. what do you all think?

What's the process, and how much energy would it use?

I'm guessing the very low concentration of CO2 in the air will make this quite an energy intensive process. In fact it will probably take more energy than was released when the carbon was oxidised in the first place. But bear with me on that part. I'm just looking at the extraction for now.

Thanks!

thanks a lot
