Do you believe that NASA is being forthcoming and has taken enough precautions to allow for a viable repair process? Or are the astronauts going to be staying on the space station for 2 months?

In a NASA article 'Eclipse Predictions and Earth's Rotation' it states that "The Moon's average distance from Earth is increasing by 3.8 centimetres per year."

I've not heard anything about this before, but knowing a little about how vital our Moon is to our planet it does concern me somewhat, and I'd like to know...

1. Why is the moon moving further away?
2. What effects will this have upon the Earth as our Moon gets further away from us - i.e. on tides, etc?
3. How long will it be before we notice the effects on the Earth of our Moon being further away from the planet?
4. How far away will our Moon go, and what will happen to it/us then?

Thank you.

what would you do?

I thought of tossing up a mirror some grandiose distance from the earth and accelerating the light back to us so that we could observe objects as they once were/began.

I have this theory about the universe. I think that it cant really end, because the universe itself needs to exhist in space. Like if you have an object, it exhists in space, in air. Do you agree with this perspective?

I know it's far off, but I am fascinated by human nature to survive. In 4-5 bil. yrs the Sun will run out of energy destroying our galaxy, and changing it forever. What will we do to survive? should we start focusing on technology that can be used to move humans off of earth.

when it's like midnight and so on, just there with your friends and just looking at the stars. It's so relaxing as long as you live out in the country instead of in the city.

Let me clarify: is it possible that a gas giant might have formed with certain bands/layers of atmoshpere whose chemistry more resembles that of Earth's? Meaning, a section of atmosphere a human being (or something close) could breathe. If so, at what altitude would this layer of atmosphere need to be in order for the strength of the planet's gravitational field to be close to 9.8 m/s sq, and what would the pressure be like? (Assuming the planet is slightly smaller than Jupiter). I understand that this environment would likely be extremely windy and also quite cold. Do wind speeds decrease significantly as one bores deeper in the atmosphere?

I've done research myself but apparently most people are under the impression that this scenario is completely impossible, and I don't have the mathematical formulas/skill to prove otherwise. Hopefully my question makes some sense.

Thanks!
