Interesting question.
I would ask though, why do you think it can't go on forever? Are you putting Earth-like limitations on this concept?
The universe is an amazing place that completely boggles the human mind. There are concepts that we can't even wrap our heads around such as "infinity".
A lot of astrophysicists say the universe is more or less a round shape so if you set out in one direction, you'd eventually come back to your starting point but from the other way (if you went north, you'd get back to the starting point from the south).
I, for one, personally feel the universe is infinite in all directions.
There are many secrets of time and space that humans are not even close to understanding yet. But it's fun to learn as much as we can and try. We learn more and more bit by bit. :)

Odds are good that long before reaching the end of space (..if there even is such a thing..) you'd bump into something like a star or planet. Where that point would be is impossible to calculate.

In human prespective it can't but it can. There are two theories.
1. The universe has a wall
2. The universe doesn't have a wall
It an ant in a ball trick if you kept on going forward yo uwould envitably come to the same place and really the universe works in the same way there could be a wal but we'd not be able to see it.

According to current theories, yes, it goes on forever (at least as far as any human is concerned).
We can see out to about 13 billion light years, so even travelling at the speed of light it would take 13 billion years to get there. And once we got there we'd probably find that it just keeps on going past that.

First of all, use something resembling English grammar when asking questions. I would not end up at a wall a river something, no matter how hard I tried.
Second, go get a book. Nobody who can actually explain the complexities of space, time, or travel through them, is going to be on this ridiculous forum on a Saturday night.
Third, just go back to school for some punctuation lessons...then try to utilize them.

Space expands at the speed of light,it is a finite entity so some where it must stop.
It also has a maximum and minimum size, and a maximum and minimum density.
As space expands it's density decreases.
When it reaches the minimum density it will cease to exist.

After I walked about 14 billion light years, I would reach the wall of light marking the edge of the Big Bang. If I kept walking after reaching that, I would walk into whatever type of matter that the Big Bang exploded into.

It depends -- is gravity a factor, because I might end up being swayed in one direction or another. Then again, if gravity were a factor, I'd stay on earth. I believe I would end up about near Polaris.

Some things are not meant to be known, if they could be. This is one that cant. Eventually you'd collide with something.
