how does gravity work?
i don't know why but i always think solid the way i think of it is earth is a huge rock how in the world can something pull other things like the moon? plus the sun has gravity but how? it is just a ball of fire floating in space.. i don't understand it...

One of the most profound questions in science. The force of gravity is very much weaker than the other forces (electromanetic, strong nuclear and weak nuclear forces). Whether gravity is actually a force like the others is undecided.
According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, gravity is due to the effect of a heavy body 'distorting' space around it, so that other objects tend to fall towards it.
