How does a reflector telescope that has a 19 inch tube have a 1400mm focal power and other reflector telescopes that have longer tubes have only 700mm. The 19 inch telescope claims to have a 1400mm focal length that is 55 inches long. Does this produce a higher degree of magnification than the 700mm with a longer tube?

The rumored closeness of Mars for tomorrow (false) actually happened in 2003 - it was the brightest object in the sky - and the Lunar eclipse will occur Tuesday night-Wednesday morning (true). Have you planned to watch it?

This earth was here long before humans were and will be here long after we are extinct, it doesn't care if we save it for us, it will continue without us.

I was wondering if the lunar eclipse is going to happen tomorrow the 27th or Wednesday the 28th. I live in California.

I don't care if mars is going to be the same size as the full moon or not, I just want to know if I am going to be able to see mars with the naked eye or not!!! I have read all of the questions about this and sum ppl say its true others not, I have seen a couple websites that say it is true and other websites that say its not, so don't accuse me of not doing research myself cuz I have alot, I just want a straight anwser!!!

According to Brian Greene's book, The Elegant Universe, page 329, "... a three-dimensional sphere inside a Calabi-Yah space can collapse without an ensuring disaster, because a three-brane wrapped around it provides a perfect protective shield." Then on page 324, he writes: "... the three-brane can wrap around and completely cover a three-dimensional sphere. ... a three-brane has three extended dimensions." Then, on his CDs, he ask the question: could our universe be a three-brane?

So, is a three-brane small like the Planck distant or somehow large like our universe? And, what would cause space to rip or tear in the first place?
