The total phase of the eclipse will be from 5:52 PM til 7:23 PM Singapore time. Looks like the moon will rise already in eclipse there.

I used this time zone converter:

If today is Tuesday in Singapore, then yea.. it is today.

I think the problem here is this confusion between various sources.

There are American sources, there are European resources as well. Well, seems like there isn't much help from Asia.

When Americans and European gives out informations, they give it in a way where the time zone and everything else calculated base on their zone... which gives us, asians a big headache converting these numbers and timings.

I did searched a number of places, example: NASA.... Singapore will be able to observe this major event...since its kinda rare to watch this here..

Yea.. its around 5PM, but well.. pray hard for a good weather, you dont wanna see clouds..

if i am not wrong, it last for 1hour 47min and 7 sec.. somewhere around there... the whole process.

Enjoy it people =)

And oh yea, plz find somewhere with not much high constructions or anything that might block ur view... its somewhere towards East side of Singapore...just to let u know where to look for..

Too bad... It was cloudy...

You are suppose to see it from the reddish moon rising in the east by 7:10, when it rises and it is suppose to end at 9:30 (no more shadow)

Circumstances of the eclipse....Singapore local time
Beginning of eclipse 1552
Middle of eclipse 1837
Moon rise 1914
Moon leaving umbra 1923
Moon leaving penumbra 2024
End of eclipse 2123

hey guys. jus to share the information i found.

it's true that the eclipse (Partial, when Moon is in Earth's penumbra) will start at SG time 4.51pm. Total Lunar Eclipse will begin at 5.52pm and end at 7.23pm. this is directly followed by a Partial Lunar Eclipse, ending at 8.24pm. [you can verify these times at http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/home/9282371.html where SG time is UT+8]

however, a check with the moonrise table for today at http://app.nea.gov.sg/cms/htdocs/article.asp?pid=2269 indicates that moon will only rise at 7.10pm today (28th aug). this means that we should only be able to observe the last 10 odd min of the Total Lunar Eclipse and the 2nd Partial Lunar Eclipse if the sky is clear enough. Also, note that the sun will set at 7.11pm today (http://app.nea.gov.sg/cms/htdocs/article.asp?pid=2268) and this may result in a sky too bright to catch a proper view of the eclipse.

all the best to all of you! =)

According to Saturday's papers, it will occur at 5.52pm (Sg time). Tuesday. (which is tomorrow).
The partial eclipse begins at about 4.51pm, then total eclipse ends at 7.22pm.
Another partial eclipse which will end at 8.24pm. Between 8pm and 9pm, depending on conditions of the sky, we may still catch the partial eclipse. Best view is at East Coast Park and Changi.
