I am looking for a good portable telescope to take with me camping. Can anyone recommend one? (I am based in UK) Don't want to take my meade etx with me but as it will be a second scope not too pricey. Many thanks.

Here is a good little "grab and go" telescope. It is a beginner telescope but the Sky and Telescope editors liked it even though they are all advanced users.

When I think of camping, backpacking comes to mind, rather than a Caravan.
The 80mm "shorties" fit that bill very admirably.
They are "wide field" Refractors with a FL of 400mm (F/5), great for wide field views but also work reasonably well on Planets. But don't expect great performance once you get over 100X.
But you can mount them on a regular tripod and they will actually fit in a backpack. I believe Orion UK also sells them, but they are marketed under a number of brand names. Even a good quality one from a reputable dealer will not break the bank.
