In sci-fi movies, spaceships flying through asteroid belts are shown dodging between huge floating boulders. Is our asteroid belt really like that? Or, if you were on one of the asteroids would you even be able to see the other asteroids? If you could see other asteroids, would you see them as big rocks, or would they be so far away you would only see little star-like lights?

I've never heard of anyone from NASA saying anything about space-probes going to the outer planets being in danger when flying through the asteroid belt. So, I figured that the sci-fi scenes were probably over-dramatizations.

Also, I've read that the asteroid, (now supposedly a dwarf-planet), Ceres contains like 30-40% of the asteroid belt's mass. Since the asteroid belt covers such a huge area, it seemed like, if so much of the mass was concentrated in Ceres, the rest of the asteroid belt must be pretty sparsely populated.

Is one easier to find out than the other? Would solving one give us the answer to the other, thus solving the big picture?

Pointed into deep space, what amazing images would be waiting there for us?.
Perhaps if their were aliens out there, they would get the shock of their life when they seen the size of the giant eyeball at the other end of the telescope?
This is just a fun question, no techno head replys about not being physically possible please.

If yes, do you have a degree or higher? What sort of things did you enjoy learning about - and finally, if you did a thesis what was it on? PS. I'm not trying to copy, I'm still in high school haha. Thanks.

They looked to be flying at the same speed (I think it was around 30,000 mph), but being up in the sky we couldn't tell how far apart they were. Where do I find this information?

I heard that Betelgeuse has already exploded. (I know about the time difference) I just wonder if it is true. Are there other known stars that no longer exist? Or that have lost their luminocity?

So, if Earth is flat, as proven by Google Earth, how thick is it. You must take into account how deep the oceans and mines are. Think about it, let your mind go off at a tangent. Give me some really witty, droll and inspired answers. The best one gets a smartie!!!!
