May be it can help you when you compare astronomy with cosmology. Astronomy is the science of the observable universe. It explains what we can see. It's about physics.
Cosmology on the other hand is a kind of weird science where the scientists are free to leave the laws of physics. The can postulate models about the Big Bang and how it all happened. If there is a conflict of their model with the observable universe they are quick to postulate an unknown entity of "dark matter". When there are still things that contradict their theory and model with what we can observe they are completely free to invent dark energy.
It's very far from the work of Kepler and Newton.
Cosmologists try to explain what is not known. They try to convince people of their (temporary) model.

Cosmology is the study of (knowledge of) cosmos, the universe.

How the universe is created, how it is expanding (or not), how it is going to end... all these are valid questions for a cosmologist.

All the terms used by u are part of cosmology.

The universe is an incident that follows a certain course,a series of events that occur in a certain order.
The science of cosmology is to try to make sense of events that occur over vast distances and billions of years.
