I have learned that the reason there are not very many images available of the back side of the moon is because there is an unexplainable formation on the back side of the moon. It is conical in shape, that reminds of a rocket cone.

My suspicions tell me that Planet V (now the asteroid belt) broke apart sending some pieces into Mars, creating the Bulge. That spewed large chuncks of Mars Earthward. The "Meteor" that killed most dinos. In that impact, enough earth material re-intered space as super heated ball of liquid rock, most of which formed the sphere we see as the moon, with the remainder of the debris impacting the moon, creating the multi-cratered surface. Notice that all of the solid planets have no natural satelite other than the earth. Also look at the volcanoe arangement of Mars - not the result of natural planet based activities.

What theories on the Moon's origins do you have

Is the Orion Starshoot DSI better than a Meade DSI pro color, for the price I am getting the starshoot for 350$ used and the DSI pro color is 499! I will be using it with my Celestron C8-S-GT on equa. mount in Pittsburgh. I am fairly new at astrophotography and want a CCD since they are made for astrophotography compared to DSLRs.
If you have any imput that would be great.

A lot of people say that we did not goto the moon. I question it. If we did, where is the evidence (pictures) from telescopes from earth looking at the moon showing the left over space gear like the Lunar Roving Vehicle, the US Flag and among other things. If we did land on the dark side of the moon, then why hasn't any satellites token pictures of these items left behind for proof that we did infact land on the moon?

I read somewhere that the earth could tilt over on its axis because there is too much weight in Antarctica due to the ice. Could global warming make this happen sooner, if the Arctic ice sheet melts (the weight would be distributed away from the north)?

Has it started to happen already? I read about Inuit people in Canada who are saying that the sun seems to be in the wrong place in the sky. (Though I know that the earth does wobble a bit.)

I don't mean magnetic pole reversal. I mean that the earth itself could actually tilt over.

I was just wondering; NASA and the U.S. in general thought it was so important to get to the moon which we finally did in 1969. But since then, it seems no longer important. I mean, wouldn't exploring space be much easier if we had constructed a base on the moon by now??

Just musing, why only micro gravity space stations. Why not design a space station with a simulated gravity enviroment using rotation to induce a centrifigal force based gravity enviroment. This would overcome many difficulties and extend tours on the space stations.

This device, I think uses photons to create movement of the vanes inside the glass enclosure. Has anyone ever used this device to power other devices, pumps, generators, etc? Do you only expect motion in a vacuum? Has anyone ever done any experiementation with this device in space to create motion?
