instead of having it floating around up there, could you tether it to a steel cable or rope, 1 end connected to the satellite, the other connected to a fixed point on earth... the possibilities and advantges with this could be endless, space travel could become much cheaper than it is now, as you could just climb into space...

i realise the earth is rotating at 36'000mph, but would the rotation then become noticable?

Hello. Who's your favorite Enterprise commander? Kirk? Piccard? Archer? I think Archers' the most awsomest of the three but how about you? By the way,(engineers) my dad bought me a 1200 joule rated railgun for $33,000. How do you work it? Looks like a bunch of circuts and capicators to me!

I want to know the name of the combined force responsible for shrinking all the matter in the universe into a "singularity" I was taught being the size of a basketball. All theories of cosmology begin with the out rush of energy, but none has addressed what held it all together before the "bang." Where did it go and what is it called?

I think about our solar system and beyond and my head actually hurts. I have being having a discussion here and I am trying to put into prespective the sheer size of the universe. The infinate concept is so much larger than anyone can grasp. I mean, what lies beyond the farthest reaches of space or is that all there is...just the far reaches of infinate space with no end?? I would love an answer that explains this a bit.

If you opened your door to find a borg standing there, how would you react? What if it said "YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED" and started coming at you?

Could it be at one point in time, the earth was covered totally by land ... then through out millions of years the planet grew larger separating land masses to their current state, creating oceans. If you look at a map of the atlantic ocean floor you can see flat stretch marks near africa and europe.

I got a Meade Super Plossl Series 4000 from a DS telescope. Except for the fact that the eyepiece says Meade Series 4000 DS Super Plossl. Is this eyepiece work exactly the same as a normal Series 4000 Eyepieces or is it a fake reproduction of a seemingly good eyepiece?

The reason for asking is because I just got another scope, a Celestron Starhopper 8" Dobsonian and want to know which one to throw out, the 25mm E-Lux that came with it, or the 26mm DS 4000 eyepiece.

Note: The telescope came with a 26mm and 9.7mm Series 4000 DS eyepieces was 45 dollars from a Meade Outlet. It usually goes for 99 dollars.

Do you think it was staged? A lot of people have been telling me that it was staged because the flag simply "did not move." I don't know what to believe, any sources that its fake? Give me opinions or sources please.

Thanks!
