When the big bang happened, everything should have been the same size and would therfore have the same gravitational pull, everything should have expanded evenly, But obviously things clumped together to form galaxies and solar systems. I dont understand how this could happen. technically we shouldn't exist unless i'm missing something.

What do you think of Stephen Hawkings theory of black holes? I am doing a paper for my astronomy class and I wanted to get people's opinions and if they have any information that they would like to share.

Show that the Galilean satellites obey a form of Kepler's 3rd Law as they orbit Jupiter (Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto). Be sure to include a Statement that explains why what you did shows this result?

Please help me with all the numbers and with the reasoning

1. The scientific age for the Earth and the Solar system is based on the oldest meteorites, which give a age of 4.65 billion years. In a sample of 64,000 potassium and argon atoms from these meteorites, how many would be potassium and how many would be argon?

2. A very new and strange meteorite is discovered in Antartica. When scientists look at the numbers of potassium atoms and Argon atoms, they find that for every 2000 Potassium atoms, there are 62,000 Argon Atoms.

A. What is the Age of this meteorite based on this information?

B. What scientific conclusion(s) can you think of to explain this result?

3. Potassium-40 decays into Argon-40 with a half life of 1.28 billion years. On the Earth, oldest rocks found have ages of 3.8 to 3.9 billion years. If a scientist looked at a total of 64,000 Potassium and Argon atoms in these rocks, how many would be Potassium and how many would be Argon?

Please tell me which answer is for which question and explain them to me. Thanks

Aren't there black holes at the centre of the galaxies that would typically make them 'black'?

Looking for a genuine answer please...

I understand some galaxies are shaped as clusters but what accounts for flat galaxies when gravity makes grouped matter the size of stars and planets form spheres?

"Astronauts are not allowed to eat beans before they go into space because passing wind in a spacesuit damages them."

I have searched the web and there is no explanation for it (scientifically). I would like to know from the biology/physics point of view.

actually I don't. I have seen way to much proof that the whole thing was staged. not to mention we haven't been back since 1969. I find it to be a load of crapola.

I'm doing a project on constellations and i can't find this information:
-What time during the night is Aries best seen?
(what time at night during early spring?)
-What astronomer (person) discovered the constellation Aries?

Help would be nice and could you please cite your sources if any?
