If space is a vacuum and you had a strong enough straw that streched from our atmosphere all the way out into space, would our atmosphere and ourselves be sucked out into space?

Talking About the Galilean Satellites of Jupiter:

1. Europa has a smaller mass than Io. Why does Europa take longer to orbit Jupiter than Io? Give an example from the terrestrial planets that supports your reasoning.

2. Callisto has a smaller mass than Ganymede, so why does it take a longer time to orbit Jupiter? Give an example from the giant planets that supportst your reasoning.

3. Show that the Galilean satellites obey a form of Kepler's 3rd law as they orbit Jupiter. Be sure to include a statement that explains why what you did shows this result.

Please help me, please tell me which answer is for which question.

I mean, if it's that powerful, and we are truly seeing that far into the universe, then why do we have such awful views of things in our own solar system? I feel as though we are being duped. It seems to me that either the Hubble pics are fakes, or they are purposely showing bad images of things in our own backyard.

We've been using the gravitational forces of objects like planets and moons to sling-shot our crafts to greater speeds. This allows us to take much less time to get to the outer solar system. This method doesn't seem like it would work at higher speeds. What mechanisms would it take, theoretically of course, to reach light speed.
