i think the current official answer is roughly 2500 b.c. (about 4500 years old) and built by the egyptians but recent findings suggest the pyramids (including giza) may have been built much sooner and by some other civilization besides the egyptians! some suggesting it may be as old as 13,000 b.c. and that the egyptians simply acquired them... of course, like i said, i do not think any of this has been verified so id stick with 2600-2500 b.c.e. -- the following links should be useful for you:

Read finger prints of the Gods, by Graham hancock

The Giza pyramids are in the exact same alignment as the Orion belt cluster and in the same relationship that Orion is to the Milky way. The sphinx, which is facing due east has erosion on it from rain.

That corresponds with the idea that they MIGHT (evidence is a good as it is that kufu built them) have been built around 10,500 BC...

Not all of the pyramids of Giza were built at the same time. There are three: the pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the pyramid of Khafre and the pyramid of Menkaure. Usually people are referring to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was built around 2560 BC. All three of the pyramids at Giza were built between 2589-2504 BC.
