I live in Peru in South America. And I always sleep with the curtain open, so I always see the moon up high in the sky around midnight. Today however, my brother's friend saw an orange-like bigger full-moon to the west (I think) and to our perspective the moon or whatever it was not high in the sky, but it was almost behind a 15 stories building. At 11:31pm, 21 minutes ago! 2 minutes ago it just disappear fading lower towards the horizon! IT ISN'T THE SUN, BUT IT WAS ORANGE AND BIG! Also, we have been looking all over the sky the past 20 minutes.. the moon isn't there!! So we don't know what is happening!!! Please help us!!! Is there a scientific explanation? Is something similar happening in North America?

New to astronomy. How do I make the telescope go up and down? It has controls for making SLIGHT corrections, but I can't move it to view high overhead or down low towards the horizon.
Suggestions?

Um I've woundered for a few years now and this probably wont have an accurate answer... but has anyone ever thought about a space that's so small in our universe that theres a point where atoms skip from one point to another, like on a computer depending on how many pixels the screen has the mouse is always going to pass through a point where it skips a space and moves to the other pixel but it cant be in between the two colums of pixels... does anyone know if there is a point in the real world so small that atoms actually skip a point and cant go in between?

Life on the surface of a neutron star would be unlike anything we have ever seen. The creatures would certainly be flat and would slither about like slugs.

Hmm I was just wondering.
What if the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star has any connection to ufo's.

Like the part, Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.

Plus how they keep on saying, "How I wonder what you are."

It's also creepy because its a childs' song and children the mostly the ones who contact with paranormal and stuff like that.

What's your thoughts?

To calculate the true field of view of an eyepiece, choose a star near the celestial equator, measure its passage in seconds from one side to the other and multiply by 15.

People say Aliens or other intelligent life is non-existent; a fantasy. Isn't that a bit Elitist and naive? I think so. Just because there has been no provable contact, doesn't mean they're not out there. We're a grain of sand on the shore of space and time.
