Everybody will discover what happens after death, when they die. That is about the best we can ever expect I think.

To answer your question as you wrote it, no, science will never figure out what happens after death, in any kind of spiritual or metaphysical sense.
The deterioration of dead bodies is well understood and has been thoroughly documented and mapped out. That part, we know all about.
The question, "Do we have a soul that survives the death of the body?" cannot be addressed by science. Science can address only questions that can be resolved by the recording and collating of observations of factual evidence. As the experience of the human psyche after the electrochemical activity of the brain ceases is purely a metaphysical area of belief, for which no evidence exists, it is outside the purview of science.

Science will not provide the answer since "science" requires repeatability. There is a lack of verifiable evidence normally necessary for "science" to "figure out" what happens after death. Science tends to argue that something is not true unless it is observable (except in the case of the origins of the universe, evolution, etc. But that's another topic.) The best historical evidence of the afterlife was Jesus who died, returned to life in a physical body and was witnessed by many over a period of time until He 'ascended into the heavens'...again witnessed by many. His message was about transforming the heart and mind rather than about the scientific details of transitioning from this physical body and world.
Many would like to argue this life is all there is, but I bet deep down, many more hope there is something more.
We will will find out for ourselves soon enough.

It would not be a scientific discovery, as death tends not to be reproducible - you can only do it once. There are no scientific theories about death. They are all faith based. Believe them or not. It makes no difference.
But live a good life and treat people nicely, just in case.

The most agreed upon scientific theory is that you die.
Science can only show that of the hundreds of billions of people who have ever lived, no observable case of someone coming back to tell us what happened has ever occured. in that case, science can say it's a fact that nothing happens after you die. They can say this because a fact in science is defined as:
"confirmed to such a degree that it would be perverse to withhold provisional assent." I suppose that apples might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal time in physics classrooms.

After death you enter a state of infinite nothing so you can't come back and tell anyone what happened.
Life is an incident that will end, forever.

there are many beliefs out there. science goes a bunch of ways. if you think about it (completly scientifically speaking) there isnt a god at all. im a darwinist-i believe in the theory of evolution-not adam & eve. the guys who wrote the bible had "visions" of god speaking to them. these days thats called insanity. & the current translation of the bible has been translated from greek n arabic n all those crazy languages to english. so you know they have left out some stuff n misinterpreted things....
i got a lil off the question lol sry
hope i have opened ur eyes a lil....

Who needs science to figure this out. U can figure it out yourself.
Look beyond the universe and then rethink.
U really do not die at all....your life inside lives on.
Your dust of the Earth is left behind to bury.

Unless we are able to have someone die and be dead long enough to find out, and then be able to bring him back to life, and he be able to speak, we probably won't know. The most agreed is either heaven/hell or nothing

same thing that happens to text message when you blow up the phone. puff, and it's gone.
After the flow of blood is stopped, personality and memory links in the brain begins to disintegrate withing minutes. Near-death experience had made retards or vegetables of way too many people.
