A nova is a white dwarf whose solid gravity is sucking gas off the floor of a special better half action picture star. while the gas, generally hydrogen, builds up on the white dwarf to a definite, 'serious' mass, the gas undergoes fusion, and certainly 'blows up', inflicting the white dwarf to very much enhance in brightness, till each and all of the gas is used up. In a nova, the full white dwarf would not explode, only the extra floor gas it pulled off that is neighbor.
