It's like saying the faster one moves, the slower time appears for them. If this statement is true, than I would expect to age less if i stayed on a jetplane for a yr compared to someone driving a car at 60 MPH. What im trying to get at is whats so special about 186,000 MPS that causes one to age slower??

let's say that i am standing on the north pole and there is a hollow tunnel that runs to the south pole. if i have a penny in my hand and i drop it, it falls to the ground. what happens if i drop a penny in the tunnel? what about a tennis ball? i would think that the ball would eventually stop at the center of the earth and roll along the wall of the tunnel since the earth is spinning? would it roll in line with the tilt of the earth? what really happens?

I know that the Earth rotates at around 1000 MPH at the Equator and 0 at the poles. So does this mean that the closer one is to 0 degrees the sun rises and sets faster?

Ok, lets say you were in a jet airplane going 5 miles per hour under the speed of sound. Say then that you threw a ball to your friend down the aisle at 10 miles per hour.

Would that ball then break the sound barrier and create a mini sonic boom?

From another perspective, if you threw the ball out the window instead of down the aisle, would the effect be different (assuming wind resistence did not slow the ball)?

I've heard that the sun will eventually expand in 50 million years time destroying the earth and making a mess of my uncle Albert's prize daffodils, but what are the statistical chances of us earthlets being smushed into space goo by a giant meteor (with a tax bill attached to it) before we even get that far?

I'm thinking of investing my money into sun block shares so I'm going to factor your answers into it.

A couple of months ago, I heard on the radio that the planet Venus has a moon now. But I can't find any info on this, so I was wondering if anyone out there has any info on this subject.

I have always wondered why spacecraft re-enter the atmosphere at such terrific rates of speed. Wouldn't it be possible to slow down somehow, while in orbit, thus avoiding all the dangers from heat build-up on re-entry? Perhaps by "skimming" the outer atmosphere before descending, or bringing extra propellant?

Maybe stuff really can travel faster than light. Maybe time is only as we have developed standards to, such as hours or minutes?

I'm not saying that aliens are real, but there are so many stories with aliens, and I haven't read one that has my idea.
my idea is this. if aliens come from a different world, or galaxy, or they see an entirely different spectrum than us, or whatever, why can we see them? like, if they were so different, maybe they would be composed of cells and organisms and molecules that our eyes couldn't see. maybe our spectrum is completely different from thiers. does anyone agree with me, or do you think I'm crazy and I think too much?
