Looks like a meteorite to me... The color is kinda cool, maybe it is gold (wonder if the homeowner will get it back!). Gold like all metals are formed during supernova of a star, so its presence in a meteor in theory should be about as likely as finding it on earth. But just because the color is goldish, doesn't mean it is actually gold... They talk about how the rock is only the size of a golf ball but weighs about the same as a can of soup.. that would be about right for one of the more common metals.. iron.. Likely it is just an odd looking meteorite consisting of mostly iron, maybe with a few other metals thrown in.

Quite a few meteorites hit the earth every day. Once in a while they hit a house or a car.

I checked it out. It's really fascinating. The object was big. The comment about meteorites falling all the time is true. I never heard or seen one this big.

I've seen the picture and description of it and don't see how it could be anything other than a meteorite.
