tons of people argue about whether or not global warming is real or not, or if it's just part of nature's cycle. well, i'll tell you that it is a natural part of earths cycle. there are hot houses and ice houses that last a very long time. there are all kinds of natural cycles the earth goes through that are complicated. however, scientists are able to go back thousands of years in ice cores to determine what the levels of Co2 were and we are way off the charts. i took an environmental science class and i know i am not a expert just because of that but it seems to me that the evidence to support the argument that humans have had a detrimental impact on our earth is incontrovertible. responses?

is it possible that there is a parallel universe outside of our solar system? I was just wondering because if there was, that would be really cool, but also, i was wondering, if NASA built the right space shuttles to go at the right speed, faster than the speed of light, then would it be possible for people to reach that parallel universe?

I'm in Grade 9 Science and all of this electricity stuff is getting on my nerves. I'm particularily confused with voltage. "The potential difference between two points on a curcuit in relation to blah blah blah..."; no, that crap just won't cut it. I don't know what the hell it means. My teacher just shows us the calculations for stuff and doesn't thoroughly explain anything. This is my worst unit yet. Can someone explain to me what these terms mean in a way that I can understand? I want to know a bit about what I'm working with here.

Also, how the heck do batteries work? My teacher goes on about these "cells" with a short line (-) and a long line (+) or something like that... but I have no idea what the heck she's talking about. Does she think we've learned about batteries already or something?

One more thing: Our teacher sais electrons flow out from the "negative terminal" on a battery. What I want to know is: WHY? What goes on inside a battery anyways?

Everything involves a penis and vagina... im just curious what everyone thinks about how this came to be. If everything was to banch off and evolve in there own separate way, why is it that the way everything reproduces is pretty much exactly the same?

Given the potential energy of gravity is PE = -GMm/r and kinetic energy of motion is KE = (1/2)mv^2, apply conservation of energy to determine the final symbolic speed of an object initially at rest falling from an initial radial distance of r(0) to a final radial distance of r(f).
