Don't worry too much about it.

In the winter time most cactus go dormant so they don't do a lot of growing anyway. Is gets very cold at night in the desert so the cold itself shouldn't harm it much. Not even collecting a little snow would harm it. If there is going to be a freeze though I would cover the cactus with a cloth to prevent the water vapor from feezing to the cactus and potentially harming it. You would have to clean off the snow before doing this (if there is any snow on it of course).

Not overwatering is more important than temperature and of course you need to make sure that you don't collect any mold or rot.

According to: http://www.succulent-plant.com/cultivation.html
"During winter, cacti and many succulents rest, so they require little or no water, but this depends a little on temperature and light levels. If you grow plants indoors on the window sill of a heated room, they will require some water during the winter."

According to: http://www.cactusinfo.net/outdoor_cacti.htm
:Marginally hardy plants for your area should be covered for the first few winters until they have adapted to your winters."

Let them go dormant and water alot less, once the soil is dry to the bone and starts to crack up water with luck warm water, put it in a sunny window.
