Melanin exists in two forms in human eyes, skin, and hair: eumelanin, which is a brown-black color and phomelanin, which is a yellow-red color. The relative ratio controls hair/skin color. If a lot of melanin is present, the eye will appear brown or even black. If little melanin is present, the iris appears blue. Intermediate amounts of melanin produce gray, green, hazel, or various shades of brown.
The iris is colored by, its background skin, its stroma (those radial lines from pupil to white in the iris), and the number of stroma. Pigments localize in the iris's stroma more than the background skin.
Eye color genes are called EYCL1, green/blue eye color. EYCL2 that colors the iris center darker. EYCL3 brown/blue
Dominance order
EYCL3 brown >EYCL1 green >EYCL3 blue = EYCL1 blue
The brown version of EYCL3 appears in the stroma, the blue version does not, either exist in the background skin of the iris.
Other genes may be the source of flecks, rays, rings, and diffusion patterns.
Genes for the pigment lipofuscin (lipochrome) in the iris that may determine amber, green, and violet eye colors have yet to be found
.
Eye color variants appeared in northern European ancestors when skin pigmentation was lowered to acquire more vitamin D from sunlight with an increased angle of incidence.http://pages.globetrotter.net/peter_frost61z/European-hair-and-eye-color.htm

Can People Have Yellow Eyes

2016-10-17 00:51:10 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Because they don't have that much ether in their blood anymore. The original human, Adapa, had yellow eyes, pale porcelain skin, and straight black hair. Well he still does, as he's still alive. Humans were originally 50% Homo erectus and 50% Angel[[also called Annunaki]] and generations upon hundreds of thousands of years the angel dna which had that ether dwindled down to barely anything. I myself though, currently have dark yellow eyes that glow bright yellow with a greenish tint, basically chartreuse yellow, they're getting brighter regardless of lightening though.

So there is your answer, this is infact the fact of why humans don't have yellow eyes anymore.

My daughter does actually have yellow eyes - the same colour as a lion; they look fantastic with her red hair.
I have green eyes, husband's are blue, grand-daughter has brown eyes and grand-son's are grey.
How's that for a range of colours?

Something to do with pigment color availability in the retina? There's got to be a technical scientific explanation! Good question.

the condition is called Jaundice. it is caused by excess accumulation of bilirubin in the blood stream. bilirubin is a product from breakdown of our red blood cells. the bilirubin is metabolized in the liver and excreted by urine and faeces. the causes of jaundice is not limited to hepatitis, eventhough thats the commonest cause. jaundice is a sign of liver disorders. meaning your liver isnt functioning to filter out the excess bilirubin. so yeah, to find out the cause, you should go to the clinic early for better prognosis. if its hepatitis, it can be treated if you go the the doctor early. good luck! p.s: i noticed an answer saying excess consumption of carrots can produce the same symptoms. yes, that can produce the same symptom of yellowish/orangish discoloration of the skin, but unlike jaundice, it usually doesnt affect eyes.
