tons of people argue about whether or not global warming is real or not, or if it's just part of nature's cycle. well, i'll tell you that it is a natural part of earths cycle. there are hot houses and ice houses that last a very long time. there are all kinds of natural cycles the earth goes through that are complicated. however, scientists are able to go back thousands of years in ice cores to determine what the levels of Co2 were and we are way off the charts. i took an environmental science class and i know i am not a expert just because of that but it seems to me that the evidence to support the argument that humans have had a detrimental impact on our earth is incontrovertible. responses?

yes, we haven't been measuring weather patterns long, but we can go thousands of years back into ice cores and tree rings.

The fact is that global warming is happening, and whether it is part natural or not we are responsible for the amount of warming being higher than the natural cycle.
These people who argue it is 'crap' are more interested in their own short term gains and don't give a damn about anyone else.

Incontrovertible! Undeniably! People have messed things up and don't want to admit it--blame it on ANYthing but us! Can't walk away from this. I've even had 'learned' people that I know give public talks about how GW is a myth engineered to make someone else money. There's always the money angle, but this is real. My personal carbon footprint is very small, I don't even own a bicycle, much less drive, yet I live in a society that's supposed to be contributing to most of the Co2 problem. Some steps are being taken, and my antennae is tuned to green living/global warming-I may stop using public transportation and walk! (just because I live in the U.S. doesn't automatically make me a bad guy). I'll help get the word out. More power to you.

I don't think there are substantial evidences to support the hyposethis of global warming, simply due to the fact that we have only been observing and measuring the global temperatures and weather patterns for about 200 years which is like a hair pin on a line from Los Angeles to New York and back 100s of times.

Heck, there aren't even evidences that CO2 is a green house gas.

Michael Crichton, in his book "State of Fear" makes some very good points about Global Warming.

It is warming some. But less than one degree C. in the last one hundred years. The source of the ice cap melting on Mars is the same as on earth. The sun is burning brighter and is even heating up Pluto.
