A person's body is producing energy internally due to metabolic processes. If the body loses more energy than metabolic processes are generating, its temperature will drop. If the drop is severe, it can be life-threatening. Suppose a person is unclothed and energy is being lost via radiation from a body surface area of 1.38 m2, which has a temperature of 34°C and an emissivity of 0.700. Suppose that metabolic processes are producing energy at a rate of 103 J/s. What is the temperature of the coldest room in which this person could stand and not experience a drop in body temperature?

Was told to get the alkalinity adjusted first. Then adjust the pH. When I get the pH right, then the alkalinity is low. When I get the alkalinity right, the pH is too high. Can't seem to get a good balance of both. By the way, I use Bromine for a chlorinator.

Two cars are approaching an intersection. One is 4 miles south of the intersection and is moving at a constant speed of 50 miles per hour. At the same time, the other car is 5 miles east of the intersection and is moving at a constant speed of 60 miles per hour.

(a) Express the distance d between the cars as a function of time t.

HINT GIVEN: At t = 0, the cars are 4 miles south and 5 miles east of the intersection, respectively.

Sorry, but this hint does not make sense to me. I need someone to solve this question step by step explaining as you go through the problem. Okay?
