Earth rotates West to East. The rotation of the Earth takes you toward the Sun, which rises above the Eastern horizon when you have been carried far enough East, and it sets below the Western horizon when you have been carried even farther East, away from it.

North-South-East-West are directions defined for Earth, not the solar system. Looking down on the top of the Earth, IT (the Earth) spins clockwise, hence the sun appearing to rise in the East (as Rachel says). As other have told you, the planets revolve around the Sun in a counter-clockwise motion, if you could look down on it from above.

The Earth rotates on its axis, it revolves around the sun. From "above" the Solar system, looking down on the North Pole, the earth revolves counter-clockwise.

Are you all living in Australia?
By my definition the top of the earth is the northpole.
When you look down on top of the earth the earth rotates counter clockwise of course. Counter clockwise around it's own axis and also counter clockwise around the sun.

Either way, because it depends which way is 'up', and which is 'down'. As they are both equivalent, neither is the 'right way up'.
