I really want to be a storm chaser. I used to be terrified of tornados but for the past few years I have found them to be completely fascinating. I love storms and even though I've never truly studied them I know enough about them to know all about tornados and how they form and all of those "scientific" things about tornados.

I want to become a storm chaser. Do you have to go to college for this? If so, how long and what kind of things do you have to study? How much (roughly) does it pay?

Hey I'm really confused! Please help, I have no idea where to start in even working this out!

A particle A of mass m travelling with a velocity v0 collides with a stationary particle B of mass 4m. After the collision, A travels at right angles to its original direction with speed v1 and B moves with speed v2at an angle of 60° to the original direction of A.

Show that after the collision v2 = [v0/(2sqrt3)] and find an expression for v1

Write down expressions for the total kinetic energies before and after the collision in terms of m and v0. Hence show that the ratio of final to initial kinetic energies is 2/3

Is the collision elastic or inelastic? Explain your answer.

Ok if the definition of an AMU is 1/2 of the mass of a C-12 atom, then why aren't all nuclear masses round even decimals? This shows that no two protons and neutrons are the same size does it not? If they are the same masses, then what accounts for all the decimal parts of the atomic masses? Look on any table that gives nuclear masses in amu's. C-12 has a mass of 12.000000 but that is the only round one. Why?

If we cant see the fourth dimension of objects because of reduction caused by projection into the third dimension, does that have anything to do with why you cant see the light of a lazer until it is projected onto an object in our 3 d world?

For some reason I am having trouble "Interpeting" it.

“The earth is not in the centre of the Sun’s orbit nor at the centre of the universe, but in the centre of its companion elements, and united with them. And any one standing on the moon, when it and the sun are both beneath us, would see this our earth and the element of water upon it just as we see the moon, and the earth would light it as it lights us”

The instantaneous rate of change for a sive wave like:
a sin (bx + k) is ab cos (bx + k)
The instantaneous rate of change for a cosine wave like:
a cos (bx + k) is -ab sin (bx + k).

So here's my question. that is only the rate of change for the function. BUT!!! For an energy wave, what is the rate of change for the speed of an energy wave? Is it the absolute value of the derivative?
