you know that there were 5222 votes altogether so we will say x=5222 then we know that victor got altogether 25, 33, and 76 more votes than his opponents, so if we call the number of votes victor got "v" then his opponents got v-25, v-33, and v-76, respectively. we add them to "v" to get 4v-134 as he total number of votes. therefore, 5222=4v-134; 4v=5356; v=1339. so the number of votes per person are 1339, 1314, 1306, and 1263 votes.

Call the number of votes Victor got X. Then the 4 vote counts are X, X - 25, X -33 and X - 76. Add them together.

4X - 134 = 5222. Solve for X and there ya go :)

x+y+z+w=5222
x=y+25
x=z+33
x= w+76
so 4x-134 = 5222 and x= 1339 for victor

You can solve this with a system of linear equations.

Let w, x, y, z be the number of votes received by each candidate, with w the winner.

The system is:

w + x + y + z = 5222
w = x + 25
w = y + 33
w = z + 76

Happy solving :)

x-(x-25)+(x-33)+(x-76)=5222
4x-134=5222
4x=5222+134
4x=5356
x=1339 then sub into formula for answers

5222 = V + V - 25 + V - 33 + V - 76
5222= 4v - 136
That's your equation, I guess you could do the rest.
