Enemy air force base C is located at equal distance from point O: AO = BO = CO, and has two types of long range bombers deployed:
Type-Ca(aimed to attack base A) has maximum range CA.
Type-Cb(aimed to attack base B) has maximum range CB.

Areas of surface of the planet covered by each type of bombers are Sa and Sb respectively.

Long range fighters deployed at AFB A have maximum range AB (just sufficient to defend the naval base).

What is area of planet surface S is covered by long range fighters deployed at A?

If we went to an alternative fuel of specifically a fuel cell that uses water, how would the govenment tax it to pay for roads and what not? Where I live, the cost of off road diesel $1.00 less per gallon because it isn't taxed. How would the government make that money up if we could just go to any water source and fill up? How will the make up the hundreds of millions of dollars they'd lose? I don't think a dollar per gallon tax on water would work because its also a neccessity to live. Do you think not being able to get around the tax issues has limited the governments involvement in finding alternative fuels? I know theres been government fuel cell projects going on since the 80s, but its hard to believe nothing practical has come out of it yet.

i need help with my technique when i take on questions about this.

take this example:
prove that:

cos 2x / (1-sin 2x) = (1 + tan 2x) / (1-tan 2x)

all i ever do in these questions is start substituting things like
" sin^2 x + cos^2 x " in place of " 1 "

with no real ideas or aims with what i am doing, i just wade in blindly and hope it works.
so can anybody tell me any sort of techniques for dealing with questions like this?
like what's the first thing you always do with a question like this,
r there certain things you make sure to do that always help out?

i am sick of just charging blindly at these questions because i either get lucky and get the answer by what feels like a fluke, or more often i just make a more complicated mess than the original expression i started with.

can anybody help out? does not have to be with that example i gave up there, but whatever suits you.

cheers.

In each of the four legs of the relay, a dog jump over a hurdles, retrieve a ball from the fly box, and runs back over the hurdles. In the last leg of the relay, the collies start the course 0.3 second before the sheep dog. The collies is running 23.4 feet per second, and the sheep dog running 24 feet per second. The distance from where the dog start to the fly box is 150 ft. Let t represent the time it take the collies to run the last leg . Write an equation to find the number of seconds after which the sheep dog would catch up with the collies.

Help me please, i'm so confused!
This is what i wrote , is it right?

150 * 23.4x = 150 * 24x - 0.3

1. Solve by factoring:
x2 – 13x = -12

2. Solve using the square root property:
2x2 – 35 = 15

3. Solve using the square root property:
(x + 6)2 = 4

4. Solve by completing the square:
x2 + 6x + 1 = 0

5. Solve using the quadratic formula:
x2 – 3x = 7x – 2

6. Solve using the quadratic formula:
x2 – 7x – 1 = -7
