A circular disk of radius 2.0 m rotates, starting from rest with a constant angular acceleration of 20.0 rad/s². What is the tangential acceleration of a point on the edge of the disk at the instant that its angular speed is 1.0 rev/s?

Can anyone show me how this problem is done? I have a feeling I am making it far more complicated than it should be. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Wikipedia states the following:

"The compression stroke is the second of four stages in an otto cycle or diesel cycle internal combustion engine.

In this stage, the mixture of air and petroleum is "compressed" to the top of the cylinder by the piston until it is either ignited by a spark plug in an Otto engine"

What I really want to know is, how does the "compression" occurs? I mean, it can't just "compress", there must be some sort of mechanism or source of energy to instigate the "compression". How does it occur?

The launching mechanism of a toy gun consists of a spring of unknown spring constant, as shown in Figure P5.33a. If its spring is compressed a distance of 0.160 m and the gun fired vertically as shown, the gun can launch a 23.0 g projectile to a maximum height of 24.0 m above the starting point of the projectile.

(a) Neglecting all resistive forces, determine the spring constant.
N/m
(b) Neglecting all resistive forces, determine the speed of the projectile as it moves through the equilibrium position of the spring (where x = 0), as shown in Figure 5.33b.

its easy to memorize, the problem with memorization is that it usually stays in your head for about a week or so, and then its gone. I find that if I understand why something is, if I understand the concept, if I am able to visualize it I can remember it for a long time, perhaps forever. I am having trouble visualizing and understanding changes of variables in multivariable calculus, can someone please help me visualize it?
