Any kind of bowl that won't melt. A teakettle is commonly used for this purpose. Metal bowls (esp. aluminum) transfer heat well and will work best. A wide, flat pan, like a cake pan, that has more surface area on the heated surface will generate more moisture that a smaller bowl or pan.
