Im currently under viral treatment consisting of ribavivarin and interferon, this has stripped some of the red blood cells out of my system, red blood cell production has gone up( to compensate i assume),but recent a check of iron levels shows elevated ferritin(almost doubled)while iron levels stay normal ...is this a result of the body cycling up for increased red blood cell production?

Once again, the other day a guy was trying to convince me that crop circles are impossible to have been made by people. When I tried to ask him about control goups vs test groups or simply direct logical reasoning, his reply was that cereologists aren't into that science sh**t.
I've heard similar comments many times before. Is it that alt-sci advocates don't even know what the scentific method is? Or is it that logic will shatter their choosen beleifs so that logical thinking is refered to as "sh**t"? Some seem to think that utilzing expensive equipment or using words like "quantum" means that they are performing science. Basically, that tells me that they are simply uneducated or gullible. What is your view of why these people don't respect science?

I know someone who works at the Long Beach Airport doing ground operations. As a result, his position requires him to work outdoors. Now that these wildfires have affected the air around him, what can he do to minimize the exposure since he's based outdoors? I'm worried about him.

If the amoebas are microscopic, and they can eat away at the human brain without anyone knowing till it's too late, do they kill fish too? If this is the case, wouldn't we have found a decrease in the fish population as well? That would have been at least a sign that this killer amoeba has been roaming around in certain lakes.

Is there anyone on here that knows these things? I've been pulling myself away from the forensic magazines of mine, and have begun studying this. I can't seem to find anything on it except the news on the little boy who died on Sept 17th.

Any one who has any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Bekah.

f(x)= 5x^2 at x= -1

5(1-h)^2 = 5-2h+h^2
=f'(-1)=lim(h-0)= 5-2h+h^2-5/h
=f'(-1)=lim(h-0)= h(-2+h)/h
=-2

The answer is actually -10...what did I do wrong??

I need help getting started on these 2 problems. (Step by step instructions will definitely earn you 10 points)

1. A company truck is on its way to deliver a birthday cake for a birthday party when it rounds a curve with a radius 20.0 m at a speed of 12 m/s. What coefficient of friction is needed between the cake pan and the truck in order to keep the pan from slipping?

2. Steve's car rounds an unbanked curve that has a radius of 100 m. If the coefficient of friction between the tires and the road is 0.40, what is the fasted speed the car can round the curve without risking an accident?

Thanks!

So my friend and I were driving along at 60 mph and right in front of us, was this fly, buzzing around our face. Now of course we were traveling at 60 mph because we were attached to the car, but the fly was not.

How is it possible for him to not be attached to anything, buzzing in our faces and flying in circles, but yet he is flying at 60 mph SOMEHOW.

Why isn't he smashed up against the back window?

tell me how it's going for you. I only came across the TV ad about SPIRIVA couple of days ago, and main thing I noticed was the absence of "side effects" announced. It amazed me since most medications nowadays take a whole commercial's time to tell users about the many side effects.

Someone in my family has been using CONBIVENT, FLOVENT, and regular AEROSOL PUMP for few years now for emphysema. She also suffers from CHF and high blood pressure.

I have not talked to her doctor yet about whether Spiriva would be good for her, so I need as much information as I can before asking him. Thank you.

Ok, so I have this ball that I have heated up that is made of an elastic material. Regardless of the material the ball is made of, im really just curious about the air inside it itself.
I understand the rise in temperature will increase the air pressure by giving the particles more kinetic energy thus increasing the force the air exerts on the ball's wall, but my question really is

"would the air pressure have a large enough effect on the rate that the ball changes shape from when it hits the ground to when it bounces back?"

i.e. would an increase in air pressure cause the ball to bounce higher?

Hope someone understands. :)
