The cytoskeleton is a cellular "scaffolding" or "skeleton" contained within the cytoplasm. The cytoskeleton is present in all eukaryotic cells, It is a dynamic structure that maintains cell shape, and also has been known to protect the cell, enables cellular motion, and plays important roles in both intracellular transport and cellular division.

Cytoskelton is made of microtubules, microfilaments, and intermediate filaments. Its function is to maintain the shape of the cell.
