Help me with an algorithm that takes a number and converts it into roman numeral?

hey guys i need help on how to make a program that reads an input number between 1000~3000 and gives you its roman numeral in the console. I have been really having trouble figuring out an algorithm for this. If any of you have tips I'd greatly appreciate it. I know this is really not a math question, but i posted this question in programming & design and got no responses. My second best option was to post in math.

this is similar to what i have to make...

(also, i use dev c++ 4)

Flooding Danger

1. During a summer storm, 1 cm of precipitation that used to soak into the ground now falls on a house roof measuring 18x12-m, and from there down the gutters and into a drain. How much water in cubic meters (m^3) goes down the drain?
2. What if it rains to a depth of 1cm on 20 homes (18x12-m roofs), how much goes down the drain in m^3 and gallons?
3. What is the volume of 1-cm rainfall over an area of 401 km^2. What is it in m^3?
4. If urbanization brings precipitation to 90% vs 20% in undeveloped land, how much water goes into the ground, in m^3? (1-cm rainfall over an area of 401 km^2)
5. How can you solve this issue?

"If you toss 10 fair coins in the air, what is the probability that EXACTLY 5 will land on tails?"

That would be:

.5^10 = answer, right?
Because, although you need 5 tails...you still need the OTHER 5 to be heads...so therefore you still need all 10 to be a specific result...and a probability of .5 for each(heads or tails)...means .5 x .5 x .5 x .5...etc ... or .5^10, right?

And I don't have a scientific calculator, so could someone give me the decimal and/or percentage answer for this?

Thanks!
