Well, one mile is 5,280 feet, so 2.5 miles is 13,200 feet.
My pace, or two steps is 5 feet.
For me 2.5 miles is 2,640 paces, or 5,280 steps.
For you, this answer will vary, as will actual mileage. Batteries not included.

Well, there are 5280 in a mile. If the average stride is 2 feet then there are 2640 footsteps in a mile. Also, I believe the average human walks 3-5 mph.

A normal footstep is one yard(3 ft)
There are 1760 yds to a mile
So 1760 X 2.5 = 4400 footsteps

Depend on how much distance you travel in the average step

5,280 feet / mile X 2.5 miles= 13,200 feet

If I take long strides I can get a pace of nearly exactly 3 feet , but I have long legs I would think 2.5-2.7 feet would be closer. You could walk off 10-20 normal steps to get a number for yourself:

13,200 feet/3 ft per step = 4400
13,200 feet/2.7 ft per step = 4889
13,200 feet/2.5 ft per step = 5280

If you were ever in a marching band, typical marching steps are 22" - so 2.5miles*5280(ft/mile)*12(in/Ft)/22(in/step) =

5400......more if you are a dog
less if there is a bear chasing you.
