Due to the Earth's rotation, surface objects are actually moving with high velocities. What
fraction of the Earth's escape velocity is obtained by an object placed at the Earth's equator?
Ignoring weather as a factor, is it better to launch a rocket to the Moon from the equator or
a pole? Does direction matter? Explain your answer.

I need to dechlorinate some water flowing at about 5-20 gpm. To do this, I want to build an activated carbon water filter large enough that I don't have to replace the carbon too often. I have some ideas, but information about carbon filters is suprisingly scarce. Does anyone have any ideas about how to design such a filter?

Heh, heh, heh. A) I'd like to say that I really don't think there's any real proof, and B) Who cares?

Some think it's some sort of disease like Lou Gehrig's. Again, who cares? It's not killing them, and as long as they can score some, they're happy with it. Aren't we all? I am 100% straight and more "manly" than average. A good friend of mine is bi. I think the whole thing is misunderstood and even possibly misrepresented by those who are.
