The oxidation state of gold in its compound ranges from -1 to 5+ but Au(I) and Au(III) dominate.

Au+ is Gold (I) or Aurous

Au3+ is Gold (III) or Auric

If you mean what oxidation states does gold have in its compounds, it's −1, +1, +2, +3, and +5, with +3 and +1 being common, the others rare. As for free ions.. in a hot plasma it can exist as dozens of different ions.
