Here's what I've done so far:
(u-3)^3-3u+8=0
(u-3)(u2-3u+9)-3u+8=0
u3-3u2+9u+92-3u2=27=3u+8=o
u3-9u2+18u-19=0...

but I don't know how to continue on now...

Thanks all in advance =D

If iodine is not present a human's diet, the thyroid gland condition called goiter develops. Iodized salt is designed to remedy this condition by providing some calcium iodate as an iodine source in normal table salt. How many atoms of iodine are provided by a 25 mg sample of table salt that contains 0.01% Ca(IO3)2

My answer came out to be 7.7e17 atoms I

Hey guys,
I am in Math 12 and I need some help with my review on transformations. Please help if you can.

If the graph x^2 + y^2 = 4 is vertically compressed by a factor of 1/5, then reflected in the y-axis, determine an equation for the graph.

Definition of a continuous function:

a) f(c) is defined

b) lim f(x), x-> c exists

c) lim f(x)= f(c) x->c

If conditions b and c hold true, is a automatically true?

the question::
Which of the following compounds will react with eachother to form of a precipitate(determine all possible combinations)-Calcium carbonate, aluminum sulfate, barium nitrate, ammonium hydroxide, magnesium acetate

my answers::
CaCO3(aq) + 2NH4OH(aq)--> Ca(OH)2(s) + (NH4)2CO3(aq)
CaCO3 + Ba(NO3)2--> Ca(NO3)2+ BaCO3
CaCO3 + Mg(C2H3O2)2-->Ca(C2H3O2)2
+ MgCO3
3CaCO3 + Al2(SO4)3 -->3CaSO4+ Al2(CO3)
Al2(SO4)+6NH4OH-->2Al(OH)
3 +3(NH4)2SO4

and so on and so forth (im not going to bore you with all these letter/numbers)
i got a total of 10combinations because basically i used all of them
i was wondering if you can tell me if that is right/if im balancing the equations right

also, im having a bit of trouble with labeling the state (aq), (s)
[btw, the states i did for the first one are like that for the rest...at least i think so]
please help with some reassurance/corrections of my work, thanks

Problem 1:

(x) over (x + 5) - (3X) over (x +2) is equal to (4) over (x^2 + 7x + 10)

** I know that I need to use the quadratic formula at the end there -- that's where I'm getting stuck.

Problem two:

(4) over (x - 1) is equal to (X) over (x + 2) - (6) over (x^2 + x - 2)

My friend is stuck on a math question. You have to factor two numbers and turn it into 4 numbers (I got stuck cause it made no sense to me). So like, you have to factor a polynomial and make it into 4 numbers into one (no brackets... would it be called a quadromial? I don't think it would be...)
So you have 3x2 - 75
3x2=3 squared

We think it has to do with the greatest common factor (which would be 3).

Any idea? (if you get it and can get an answer, can you show the work?)

I know there isn't much info but that's all I can explain cause it's on a sheet with a pile of other answers and the answers each have a word and when you put it into a spot on the sheet it'll make a (logical) sentence...

A mountain climber, in the process of crossing between two cliffs by a rope, pauses to rest. She weighs 590 N. As the drawing shows, she is closer to the left cliff than to the right cliff, with the result that the tensions in the left and right sides of the rope are not the same. Find the tensions in the rope to the left and to the right of the mountain climber.
