A relief airplane is delivering a food package to a group of people stranded on a very small island. The island is too small for the plane to land on, and the only way to deliver the package is by dropping it. The airplane flies horizontally with constant speed of 290 mph at an altitude of 600m . The positive x and y directions are defined in the figure. For all parts, assume that the "island" refers to the point at a distance from the point at which the package is released, as shown in the figure. Ignore the height of this point above sea level. Assume that the acceleration due to gravity is = 9.80m/s^2 .After a package is ejected from the plane, how long will it take for it to reach sea level from the time it is ejected? Assume that the package, like the plane, has an initial velocity of 290 in the horizontal direction. If the package is to land right on the island, at what horizontal distance from the plane to the island should the package be released?
What is the speed of the Pg

For each positive interger n, define R(n) to be number of regions into which n lines, no two are parallel and no three of which intersect at the same point, divide the line.

Determine a forumla for R(n) and prove by induction it is true for all positive n integers...

I got a couple formulas but I don't know how to do the induction part...it's like...r(n) = n(n+1)/2 + 1 or r(n) = r(n-1) + n or r(n+1) = r(n) + n + 1...

which one do I use? how do I do the induction? thanks

I misinterpreted a simple equation, leading me to think of powers(exponents) that are not whole numbers. 2(2)(2)=8.
2(2)(2)(1)=8. So does the .5 mean nothing? Or mean nothing just in this case?

The switch would be by default closed with another circuit A, but if the voltage at the pt where the switch is below say 5 volts, it will switch itself to circuit B. The moment circuit A has a voltage above 5V, it would switch it self back from A to B. What type of electronic switch that works as stated? And how do we connect it?
