my optician prescribed me contact lenses with diameter 13.6, would ones with 14.2 diam work?

The vision correction with a different diameter will be the same as long as the power of the contact lenses ( diopter ) is the same. Only problem can be because of bigger size they will be more visible and may be a little uncomfortable.

Well it looks as if the 14.2 is not your measurement and it is imperitive to healthy habits if you can handle itching, scratching, burning it is a very bad idea to think putting on your eye something that is your measure.
