a) sodium cynide
b) iron (lll) chloride
c) sodium sulphate
d) potassium carbonate
e) copper (ll) hydroxide
f) lithium nitrate

it is very hard for me to explain the second part of the question cos it will take up a lot of space.

so i shall explain how iron is Fe+3..

ONLY transition elements like iron and copper, you need to put the number when you name the compound. example Iron (lll) chloride

chloride is the second most electronegative element in the periodic table. so unless it is bonded to fluorine, it will ALWAYS have a charge of minus 1.

working to find charge of iron, Fe.

let charge of iron to be x...

x+ 3(-1)=0
x=+3.
therefore, it is iron (lll).

IF it is =+2, it is then iron (ll)
