here is the problem

9p^2=-21p-6

heres what i did. i made it -9p^2-21p-6=0

i'm doing the "if it isnt a "1" before the variable technique and getting nowhere close to what the answer in the the back of the book says.

can anyone explain how to solve this? thanks.

A small company produces both doll houses and sets of doll furniture. The doll houses take 3 hours of labor to produce, and the furniture sets take 8 hours. The labor available is limited to 400 hours per week, and the total production capacity is 100 items per week. Existing orders require that at least 20 doll houses and 10 sets of furniture be produced per week. Write a system of inequalities representing this situation, where x is the number of doll houses and y is the number of furniture sets. Then graph the system of inequalities.

thank you

When a camera flash goes off, the batteries immediately begin to recharge the flash's capacitor, which stores electric charge given by the following. (The maximum charge capacity is M and t is measured in seconds.)
Q(t) = M(1 - e^-t/a)
(a) Find the inverse of this function and explain its meaning.
t(Q) =

Q(t)=M(1-e^-t/a)
(Q/M)=-e^-t/a
ln(Q/m)=-(-t/a)
ok so now is it
ln(Q/M)=t/a (since it is -e^-t/a so is it -ln(e^-t/a) or is it ln(-e^-t/a)??

solve each equation or formula for the variable specified.

1. 3x - 4y =7, for x

2. a(y + 1) = b, for y

3. ex - 2y = 3z, for x

4. 3/5y + a = b, for y

y = mx + b,for m

Suppose a piece of lead with a mass of 14.9 g at a temperature of 92.5C is dropped into an insulated container of water. The mass of water is 165 g and its temperature before adding the lead is 20.0C. What is the final temperature of the system?

This is what I have so far...

q = (m) (T) (Cp) = (14.9g) (92.5C - Tf) (0.449 J / g * C)
q = (m) (T) (Cp) = (165g) (Tf - 20.0C) (4.184 J / g * C)

I have been working on this problem for 2 days now and I am having alot of trouble getting an answer. Help is highly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

okay i didn't really have much room in the question to make it perfectly clear: Prove that if a point lies on the two ends of a line segment, the point lies on the perpendicular bisector of that segment. I get why, I just don't know how to prove it. Thanks so much. Even just a start would be great!

What do you people think about this global warming stuff? Do you think it's true? There's been a lot of debate on this subject. Is it really true that the increase of CO2 levels are made by emissions from our cars and such? Or is it from the sun bursting its gamma rays like Micheal Savage says?
