You are given a worked wooden item from an archaeological dig believed to date to during the last glaciation. As such, the artifact would be another piece of evidence in favor of the hypothesis that North America was settled prior to the end of the last glaciation. You analyse the artifact and find that it has a specific activity of 2.2 dpm/g. How old is the artifact?

I asked this earlier, but no one seemed to be able to solve it so I will ask it again. I got it from the website http://www.mindchallenger.com

Answers are on the site.

This can be a little tricky and there is a simple way to solve it. All the information needed is here for those of you who think it is "unsolveable." The beauty of this puzzle is it appears unsolveable.

Tom and Sally are neighbors and Sally say to Tom, "I want you to guess the ages of my three children. The product of their ages is 36 and the sum of their ages equal your house number." Tom thinks for a minute and says, "I can't solve it. I need another clue." Sally says, "OK. My eldest daughter is doing the laundry." Tom says, "I know their ages." Do you?

A commuter train travels between two downtown stations. Because the stations are only 1.18 km apart, the train never reaches its maximum possible cruising speed. During rush hour the engineer minimizes the travel interval t between the two stations by accelerating for a time interval t1 at a1 = 0.100 m/s2 and then immediately braking with acceleration a2 = -0.360 m/s2 for a time interval t2. Find the minimum time interval of travel t and the time interval t1.
